PORTFOLIO

retouching

The goal for this Photoshop edit was to give the image a slight ‘painterly’ look, to increase the contrast, lighten the skin, clear imperfections, and darken the background.

In this photograph I wanted to imply that the model had moss growing on her body. In the edit, I patched over the areas where fabric was visible under the moss we had attached to her singlet. The colours were also changed and imperfections were removed.

Note: after this photograph was taken, the moss was returned unharmed to it’s habitat.

Two photographs were manipulated and compositied to form this image of a ‘Genie’. Techniques used include deep-etch, liquify and use of adjustment layers.
